[Byliner] On the Trail to the White Horse

This is the story of Caballo Blanco.  One day Blanco set off to run 12 miles but didn’t return home.  No one knew what happened to him so his friend Christopher McDougall went to look for him.  But this was not the first time that Blanco had gotten lost but he said he loved it.  He got to climb hills and mountains and enjoyed himself.  Hi friend went looking for him and calling his name hoping his friend would hear him.  They followed where he ran but still could not find him.  McDougall knew he could not find him alone so he got others to help out.  Unfortunately when they did find Caballo Blanco, he had died.  They are not sure what happened only that they think he fell but he lives on in his friends and how he taught them to love to run.

[Byliner] Ultimate Fighting

Ultimate fighting is often called martial arts.  It has become a great sport in America.  Many people are watching it especially in Las Vegas.  One fight had a crowd of 9,000 people for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.  One of the best fighters is Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit.  Ultimate fighting is a brutal sport.  They can punch and kick just about anywhere on the body.  No one knows why it is such a fast growing sport and watched by millions. 

[Byliner] Ego (The Ali vs. Frazier Fight)

Muhammad Ali has one of the biggest egos around.  Ali likes to be the center of attention and yells at people so they know he is there.  Especially when he is in the boxing ring, he will yell at the other guy to scare them.  Mailer talks about how Ali’s ego gets in the way of him being liked and respected by some.   Many people try to understand him and what he talks about.   Muhammad Ali will always be known as America’s Greatest Ego.

[Byliner] Ashley Fiolek: Hear Me Roar

Ashley Fiolek is part of the Women’s Motocross Association (WMA).   Unlike the other women in motocross, Ashley is Deaf but she is making noise.  Ashley is 18 years old and a five time champion of motocross and is the youngest WMA champion.  She is known worldwide and is admired by all, especially by some of the men’s motocross riders and champions.  They are impressed with her talent to ride.

Ethnography: History of Basketball

History of Basketball about the Basketball was first opened in 1891, he was invented basketball as an indoor sport. He also developed the game as an activity for his students during the rough winter months. He was director of physical education at the Young Men's Christian Association YMCA in Denver 1895-1898.  A teacher named James Naismith who works at the physical education, as the inventor of the sport of basketball. He was born in Almonte, Ontario, Canada, and educated at McGill University and Presbyterian College in Montréal. He taught physical education from 1887 to 1890 at McGill University, and then at the Young Men's Christian Association Training School Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. He was one who is the most significant to the sport of basketball, Naismith was voted to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1959. Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame, he was named in his honor and it is located in Springfield.

Dreaming of Hoops

The NBA lockout last October 12, 2011 because of the economy.  It been no game for three months and missed 68 games. So, the boys decided to go to the basketball league and travel different states to against other game. It keeps them on the body shape and also skills. The January started open the NBA. The reason why they did not play was because of money. The players wanted more but the owners did not want to give it. Finally they settled.

“Basketball”

My mother always gave me presents of shirts with basketballs on them, Nike

basketballs, a basketball cake, and other things. In the future, I would like that my own

house look like a ball, round and big. I want my clothes to have basketballs on them,

any food I eat to be shaped like basketballs, and an HDTV shaped like a basketball.

That is what I want. I want anything and everything with only basketballs and no other

type of ball.

I passed the ball to someone to make sure the ball had enough air. I was

shooting the ball during the warm up before the start of the game. I am practicing with

the ball, balling on the street. If outside the house there was a ball, I would be excited

to grab it. After I shoot the ball into the hoop, I run back to defense. If I shoot and miss,

I will accept that and move on. When I was a sophomore in high school, I played the

position of wing. I was good at shooting three pointers and driving the ball in for a

layup. I love basketball, it is very important to me. The ball is like my girlfriend, I will not

lose it.

When I was younger and living in Chicago, I wrote my name with a magic marker

and it said “Joshua”. Many of the boys who went to the park to play had basketballs and

I didn’t know which one was my ball. I want to prove to them which is mine because it

had my name on it. I hate it when anybody steals my ball. It is immature and wrong.

Anyone can go to the store and buy a new the ball. The basketballs are cheap, pricing

about $20.00.

If I am bored, I go and play with my brother and a basketball. That is better

than doing nothing. I always go play hoops outside at the park with my younger brother.

I would do that every year but only in the summer, it is too cold in the winter to play

outside. I hate that when I play with the basketball a lot, it loses air. It wastes my time

because then I have to fill it with air.

The basketball is made by many different companies and in different countries

around the world. I like the basketballs made in the United States better. Two

years ago I used a ball from Europe and I did not like the way it felt, it was weird, not

comfortable. I like the basketballs from America they are better than the European

basketballs. All the basketballs used by the girls and boys teams are from America, the

ball cannot change to any other country. The new basketballs that are being made do

not seem bland; they have a different kind of new ball design. I never thought a new ball

design could look so good; much better than the old one.

My Best Memory of Basketball

When I was a freshman in high school I played on the boys' varsity basketball team. I was surprised that I played so much. I knew I had enough good skills to play. I played on the varsity basketball team for four years. I never felt afraid of playing on the varsity boys' team and knew I had to be brave. All the boys on the team we are senors and I was the only freshman. I told the coach that I wanted to play on the junior varsity team but he said no because it would be too easy for me, when my team scored points, we all scored. it was not left to one or two people to score. Some days I wish that I could be back in the high school.

My hometown was a wonderful (or choose your own adjective) place to grow up.

2. I love to shopping clothes styles and these are the best shop in Chicago city.

Can Special Basketball Shoes Really Make You Jump Higher

Special shoes can cause increased level of jump high. Also it will be improve jump high. The basketball shoes make people who can running as fast and jump high. It helps them feel very light in their shoes. People also feel comfortable with the basketball shoes. Everyone thinks that basketball shoes will help to dunk but it's not true.  Mostly boys wants to be emulate who famous basketball player shoes because they have enough skills. Some boys thinks that it can be succeeded with their shoes, but its not true. People likes basketball shoes with the design and looks good. They also like to use shoes match color with uniform. 

Spike Lee

     Who would love basketball so much that they would buy so many Michael Jordan sneakers and posters?  Spike Lee would.  Spike’s clothes look like the 80's styles, he looks like someone who is ready to go play basketball. He looks happy in his room and he likes to be there.  He wears a small hat, glasses, jewelry, sport shorts. Under his short’s he wears tights, he also wears long Nike socks and Michael Jordan shoes. He stands and his face looks up but he has a weird expression on it. 

     There are many Michael Jordan shoes all around because these are Spike's favorite shoes. His favorite is Michael Jordan. The coolest posters are hung all over his room, they are of Michael Jordan. Spike's room has many boxes with sneakers on them.  He has many of the same kind of sneakers all over the room. There is so many things in this room that you don't know that it is a bedroom.  The bed is small and has boxes with shoes on them. The television is very small; the dressers are hidden because there are so many objects in front of them. On the table near the bed, Spike has a box of Wheaties cereal. The picture on the box is Michael Jordan. He has a bicycle in his room too. Spike also has a real basketball hoop in his bedroom.
    
     Basketball pictures are hung on the walls with posters. On the small table, he has a basketball. The posters are of pictures of Michael Jordan playing basketball or they are about his Nike sneakers. It is hard to see that the wall is blue and the only window has the Nike logo. There are baseball hats on the wall and above the basketball. The room is messy but it is his style so it is nice. Spike is good with being a creative director and an actor. By looking at this picture, you can see that Spike Lee is one of the biggest basketball and Michael Jordan fans. He probably never missed a game that Jordan played in.

Forget about Recess

This story is about a few schools in New York that decided to have a recess coach come and work with the kids. They found that before the coach, many kids were just running around and pushing others.  There were many students getting in trouble for it.  The coach is giving the kids social skills and to get along with others.  Also that they can have fun without an iPod. Some of the kids do not like the idea of having someone tell them how to play.  Others do like it because they are learning new games every week.

The reading and writting life

I've been read the book called comics when I was in the elementary school to middle school. I really like to seeing the pictures action comics book because its make me interested that kept me continue reading. If I read without picture, I could not understand or comprehend what I was reading. I started my writing in middle school years, I still enjoyed writing, but it was starting to get a little harder. The first and most difficult problem I had with writing was changing American Sign Language (ASL) in my head, to English, and then putting it down on paper. I have always had a hard time with writing and reading until began attending Bristol Community College become improve better than before.

Deaf Dribbler

My blog is going to be about basketball.  I love playing basketball with friends and on a team. I will be talking about my favorite basketball team: Chicago Bulls.  I am from Chicago so they are my favorite.
